Progressive Tests as a Form of Assessing the Impact of Exercises on the Human Musculoskeletal System
My extensive experience working as a sport physiotherapist and coach has made me realise the significance of assessing the motor fitness of everyone who engages in physical activity. I have noticed that it is impossible to correctly plan training (whether professional or amateur), let alone engage in it, without a previous all-round assessment of the fitness of the musculoskeletal system.
Many believe that engagement in sports or training develops their motor fitness, but it is their motor fitness that is used to perform exercises. If you engage in physical activity with no prior motor preparation, you risk injury, pain, etc.
Every device requires regular checks for defects in specific systems, and trouble-shooting. The human being is a bio-machine, which is a kind of device too. Therefore, he/she requires regular checks and trouble shooting. Is spontaneous physical activity and training nough to fix any defects that might occur? What conclusions can be drawn from the essential tests intended to assess the motor fitness of the musculoskeletal system and what action should be taken to ward off injuries, remain physically fit and enjoy good health?
