Practising Somaesthetics
This workshop is an introduction to somaesthetics in both theory and practice, but the theory will come through experiential practice aimed at heightening body consciousness and somatic sensitivity in perception and movement. The exercises will also involve the use of body scanning and the principles of such scanning will be explained, as will the logic involved in making the movements more efficient, easy and enjoyable.
Most of the work will involve lying on the floor, so students should wear comfortable clothes and bring either two yoga mats or a very large thick blanket or towel on which they can lie down comfortably.
