BodyConstitution, practical seminar
This year’s practical seminar, which is a continuation of the seminar on the “Actor’s Training”, focuses on “Identity”, one of the key problems faced by an actor in his practice. To what degree can an actor identify with or dis-identify from the character she embodies on stage? Does his stage identity is only a set of rules that have been arrived at? How the individuality and identity of an artist are constituted depending on the cultural and socio-historical context and his personal circumstances and experiences? What makes a Western actor different from an Oriental one?
The seminar is a part of the project BodyConstitution: Intercultural Dialogue on Actor Training, a series of work sessions, academies and seminars with drama schools students Closed workshop w Poland and Norway, undertaken as part of the programme Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage within the EEA FM 2009–2014
